It’s time for another branch line discovery. This time, we’re are fairly close to my home in Devon as we are in Cornwall on the Maritime Line, which runs from Truro down to Falmouth.
The Cornwall Railway built the line to service packet ships that went all over the world from Falmouth, but by the time they completed the line, the ships were using different ports! Even so, the line could still serve the port and also it helped to build significant tourist traffic into the town.
And as I’m there, it’s an excuse to circuit Pendennis Point where there’s some lovely sea views in all directions, and even the odd glimpse of Pendennis Castle.
